The School of Health Sciences places “teamwork training” at the center of education for interprofessional health care.
Lectures provided in the first year, “Interprofessional health work” and “Principles of teamwork/Study of holistic medicine”, outline the interprofessional work. Students in the second year take specialized basic classes, and third-year students undergo “teamwork training”.
“Teamwork training” is mandatory for all third-year students in all departments (nursing, laboratory sciences, physical therapy, and occupational therapy). Students participate in the clinical training and research for graduation theses conducted by each department. The general education course of the School of Health Sciences emphasizes the importance of balancing between specialized subjects and education for holistic medicine.
